UDDERWARE
The functional component of Udderware is a pad which covers the mare's udder to prevent
her foal from nursing. The pad is held in place by a girth strap, two butt straps, a neck collar, and a strap attached to the collar. All five strap ends (two ends of the girth strap, two butt straps, and the collar strap) are fitted with snap hooks, all of which snap to a single connecting ring. The collar strap holds the assembly in place while still allowing the mare to graze comfortably. All straps have slides for length adjustment. Neck and girth rub areas are protected by soft sheepskin texture material.
Weaning a foal no longer necessitates the physical and emotional trauma of separation of foal from mother.
This product, Udderware, allows the foal to discover other food sources while still in the stress free company of its mother. There is no need to sever a natural, common bond.
UdderWare may also be useful in cases of Neonatal Isoerythrolysis, where it is detrimental to the foal to consume its mother's colostrum.
